Spring has sprung!

The weather is changing and the children are growing as lovely as the apple tree blossoms in our Outdoor classroom.

Our recess is a great time for our P4 students to play and run with their P3 friends and to practice communication and social skills.

We are finishing up our study of Asia and dinosaurs at the end of this month.

As the school year quickly draws to a close, we have several activities to look forward to:

Three Square Food drive will be conducted by the Primary classrooms during the second week of April (April 4-April 8). We will be sending a list of requested items home, but in general its canned items, box cereals and dried goods. We conduct a service project every year to create an opportunity for our children to “help our neighbors” and to do something helpful or thoughtful for someone else. We will have a box outside P4 for you to place your items in. Thanks in advance.

Spring Break is from 4/11-4/15! Teachers have an In-Service on 4/18. Students are back in school on Tuesday 4/19. Enjoy the time off!

Parent/Child night will give you the opportunity to come into the classroom and experience your child doing their work. We will conduct this event Tuesday (4/26) and Wednesday (4/27) and will limit the number of families attending each time slot. This Friday, April 1st we will send up a sign up genius request and encourage you to sign up for a time.

Field Day is on Friday 4/29! It is an outdoor, water games organized by Coach Bob. It will be conducted in the morning. Children are asked to wear bathing suits, water shoes and sun screen! They are asked to bring in clothes and regular shoes to change into.

March is here!

We are in the middle of the month and are busy studying the continent of Asia, along with dinosaurs, reptiles and amphibians. It is a busy month enjoyed by both students and teachers!

Learning about the different periods of time when the dinosaurs lived has begun to impress upon the students how long ago that was, and how a relatively short time people have been walking on the Earth!

A great big thanks to all our parents for making us feel so cared for! We have received many compliments on our campfire door (special thanks to Sara for her artistry) and have enjoyed all the many gifts and delicious meals that our PTO and families have provided for us.

We enjoyed speaking with all of our parents last week and appreciate our partnership in guiding and teaching each one of your children.

As the weather is beginning to change, please change out your child’s extra pair of clothes. Also, continue to send a light jacket in for your child so that they can be comfortable working in the outdoor classroom in the morning.

Reminders:

Spring Break is 4/11-4/15. Teacher in-service 4/18. Students return Tuesday 4/19.
